2024 Nationwide Tour

Helping Children and Teenagers Cope with Anxiety

Over the years I have been asked many times to do a proper tour around the country and I have finally made a plan to do just that.

In this live show, I’m going to focus on understanding how anxiety affects children, teenagers and families and will give concrete and practical tips for how parents can help children deal with the stresses and pressures in their lives.

We know that anxiety is a normal and important part of our lives. We need to be able to get anxious to keep safe, but sometimes children and teenagers can get so anxious that it prevents them from doing regular things in their everyday lives.

Delivered with my usual blend of expert knowledge, common sense, sensitivity and humour, and with an open forum questions and answers at the end, the talk should be of interest to anyone living with, or working with children. The presentation is pitched at what adults can do to help children and teenagers, not for children or teenagers themselves.

The talk will be about an hour long followed by a brief interval and then I’ll be returning to the stage for an open-forum audience Q&A where you can ask whatever questions you like.

TESTIMONIALS from previous public talks

“The Joint Parents’ Associations of Colaiste An Chraoibhin, Loreto School & St Colmans would like to take this opportunity to offer their sincere thanks to you for an excellent presentation at our recent joint fundraising initiative, in Fermoy. Those who attended all agree that the night was of the highest standard. The extremely positive feedback and thanks we have received since this event is clearly a reflection on you and the overall night. Your thorough professionalism, coupled with the manner in which you dealt with issues, helped in no small way to make this a very successful and well attended fundraising initiative.”

– Joint Parents’ Associations of Colaiste An Chraoibhin

“This is a rather late but none the less heartfelt THANK YOU for the seminar you gave here at Brigit’s Garden. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and people really appreciated your advice and ideas as well as your excellent style of presentation.”

– Jenny, Brigit’s Garden, Roscahill, Co Galway

“A few more words to thank you for your seminar on Saturday in the Glendalough Hotel. There were so many points that I would have liked to have drawn attention to in my public thanks… the day, overall, was such a great combination of information, common sense, sensitivity, inspiration and humour, underpinned by the passion you so obviously feel for creating the best relationships between children and their parents.”

– Jeremy Kynaston, Wicklow County Childcare Committee

“Didn’t get an opportunity to say thank you for your wonderful work in September last. It was really well received and in a couple of instances, I have been getting very specific really good feedback on positive change. Once again thanks so much.”

– Viola Craig, Sligo County Childcare Committee
